M11_San_Onofre_Flier-1up-fmclip.png Details: M 11 San Onofre Protest And Rally

Forging a Sustainable Future Symposium (United Green.org)
  • Keynote Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is truly a great speaker. I understand his fee was $20K for this speech.
  • Recorded in HD -- Available soon... http://www.copswiki.org/Common/M1244
  • Event continues tomorrow with more great sessions. $35 or $10 if that is too much.

Occupy Walk Join Occupy Walk USA in the people's desert. Bring tents, firewood, water and whatever else you think you need. March 9,10,11 FB Event
  • Nan Di Giovanni
Saturday morning, March 3rd. I just spoke with Bill. They spent a comfortable night under the stars last night. Although very windy, they found a nice spot with some protection from the wind. The men are all short on power on their phones, as they had no where to charge them last night- so communication today will be as needed only. They are covered for food again today, thanks to their angle Althea Tryon Lara and family. Bill is in need of a pair of walking shoes in size 10.5. Susan Sayler will be making a run to see the guys today, taking them clothes, hats and scarves donated by Joie Kincaid and Margaret Torres, as well as some cash donated by Margaret and $100 from Jennifer La Vine. You can help the walkers by making a donation on their We Pay account, no donation is too small. Please tune in from time to time to watch the live feeds. Along with needing money for lodging and money, where no angels are available, we also need to keep the live ustream account and cell phone bills paid for communication. Consider sponsoring a month of U Stream or a month of cell phone bills with a donation. If you miss them live, you can watch the tapes so you will never miss them. They are now starting their third week into their journey. Be part of their journey with them- with the wonder of Facebook and Ustream you can walk with them all the way. And you can see where the walkers are all the time by seeing their tweets, it includes their GPS.

San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS)
  • NEW Event has been endorsed by the SD Sierra Club ConsCom.
  • Press Release on M11 San Onofre Protest sent to media and all lists Monday, Feb 20.
  • NEW A woman and a man from Fukushima have been confirmed for this event. This will make it extremely newsworthy -- you don't get visitors from Japan to tell their story very often (costing organizers over $3000)
  • NEW Mimi Kennedy, supporting actress in Academy Award nominee "Midnight in Paris" will be keynoting.
  • NEW Met with San Onofre State Park rangers and SONGS security. Rally site will be about 1/4 mile from the secure area of the plant, but it will be in full view. Rangers and security officers were very cooperative and helpful so far.
  • First bus is full. PLEASE SIGN UP NOW TO FILL A SECOND BUS!

Legal Hearings, etc.
  • Curtis Williams, aka Hex -- Jury said: Not guilty for blocking traffic and mistrial for delaying police officer! YEA! We win!! But, only half way...
    • Adriane Bracciale says: -- PLEASE contact Curtis Williams's lawyer Laura Sheppard if you saw Curtis Williams get arrested: lrsheppardlaw@gmail.com. His trial resulted in a hung jury, 9:3 Guilty:NG, and the City Attorney gets another chance to try for a conviction with a new trial. The jury was not swayed by his defense witnesses because no one saw the moments leading up to the arrest or the initial detention itself.
  • Benjamin Gasper's trial has been postponed to allow the defense to respond to new evidence brought forth by the prosecution. The newest court date is March 19th at 9:30 in department 50.
  • Fish's trial will be on March 22nd.
  • Bobby Uribe's trial starts 4/19. Need witnesses to Bobby Uribe's arrest at port protest.

Media

2012 Mar04

Media: Occupy San Diego

Media: Occupy National and Global

  • Occupy Rochester protesters told to leave park by March 11 Protesters met with Rochester Mayor Tom Richards Friday morning with the hopes of getting a two-month extension but the mayor denied their request. Richards says the protesters must be out of Washington Square Park by March 11 or else the City is prepared to take police and/or legal action.

  • Audit Uncovers Extensive Flaws in Foreclosures An audit by San Francisco county officials of about 400 recent foreclosures there determined that almost all involved either legal violations or suspicious documentation, according to a report released Wednesday.

  • Noose tightens on Wall Street, Geithner questioned in NY Blacked out since it happened last week, US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was in fact detained and questioned by law enforcement officials in New York. What is known and being sparsely reported by outlets like Bloomberg and Fox News is that the questioning is related to Timothy Geithner’s actions while head of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. While in that roll, Geithner used his FED authority to influence the first multi-billion dollar taxpayer bailout of the financially devastated AIG insurance company. The Secretary has already been accused publicly by numerous sources, including lawyers for the failed Lehman Brothers bank, of other legally questionable acts. Now, he’s reportedly being accused of directing AIG lawyers to hide certain embarrassing information about what AIG was going to do with its bailout money.

  • Bank of America is a “raging hurricane of theft and fraud” There are two things every American needs to know about Bank of America. he first is that it’s corrupt. This bank has systematically defrauded almost everyone with whom it has a significant business relationship, cheating investors, insurers, homeowners, shareholders, depositors, and the state. It is a giant, raging hurricane of theft and fraud, spinning its way through America and leaving a massive trail of wiped-out retirees and foreclosed-upon families in its wake. The second is that all of us, as taxpayers, are keeping that hurricane raging.

  • Occupy West Palm Beach protesters served notice to leave, most clear camp As of Friday morning, 12 tents were still pitched outside the building, located at the corner of Banyan Boulevard and Olive Avenue. By afternoon, just 5 tents remained and activists, part of the nationwide, left-leaning anti-corporate Occupy movement, were busy taking down banners and signs that had been hanging from the building. At least one activist said he had no plans to leave.

  • New York judge dismisses charges against Albany Occupy protesters An Albany judge has dismissed charges against 88 Occupy protesters, citing District Attorney David Soares' refusal to prosecute them. The defendants were charged with disorderly conduct and trespass in the weeks after Nov. 11, when dozens of protesters set up an encampment in Lafayette Park, across the street from the state Capitol and Albany City Hall. Soares announced early on that he would not prosecute non-violent protesters.

  • Where now for Dublin's Occupy protesters? THE OCCUPY DAME STREET protest, in Dublin, is a “semi-sovereign state”, according to a placard pinned to a makeshift hut in front of the Central Bank of Ireland. “The Central Bank has no jurisdiction here,” it asserts.

  • Occupy Wall Street Takes on Corporate Oligarchy The pro-democracy protesters of the Occupy Wall Street movement overcame unfavorable weather and the absence of their former camps Wednesday to target the corporate oligarchy in 70 cities.

  • Bank of America In Trouble? It looks like Bank of America might have started circling the drain before the Occupy movement even had a chance to launch its campaign against the company. For weeks now there have been ominous signs of trouble at the bank, and yesterday we heard yet another dark piece of news.
Last year, there was an uproar when Bank of America announced a plan to slap customers with a monthly $5 fee for debit card usage. The bank eventually backed off that plan when the public and some politicians cried foul.
Now it seems the company is going to try to put a new package on the same crappy idea and sell it again. This time, the plan is to add charges that range from $6 to $25 a month.

POLICE COMPLAINTS

Have you been mistreated by the Police? Have your First Amendment rights been violated? Have you been arrested for nothing, only to have the charges "unfiled" but held over your head for up to a year?
  • NEW First read this document: http://www.2momslaw.com/police_misconduct.pdf
  • Make a Complaint: How to Make a Police Complaint
    • Use this form: Complaint Form
    • Forms also available in the lobby of City Hall.
    • Citizen's Review Board member says we do NOT need names & badge numbers. File the complaint & it's up to SDPD to determine who the officer was (But it is better if we have them, of course).
  • ALSO: By telephone or in writing to
    • SDPD Internal Affairs Unit, 1401 Broadway, MS 709, San Diego CA 92101, (619) 531-2801
    • Complaints made to the Citizens Review Board do not necessarily make it into the officers' personnel files
    • Read this: Making Police Compliants That Stick
  • Also, consider making a CLAIM against the city for your BOND money if charges were never filed. They have 45 days to reject the claim, then you file a lawsuit. It costs $400 to file unless you can claim low income.

  • NEW TELL POLICE HOW THEY ARE DOING: Police host monthly meetings in the community to get feedback from community members.

I also refuse to consent to any search of these premises or any other premises under my control, or in which I have a possessory, proprietary, or privacy interest, including my car, my body, or effects. • It usually takes about 6 hours for someone who has been arrested to pop up here. This site will tell you their charges, bail, etc. Jail's number is (619) 615-2700. The jail won't tell you much if anything that is not on the website. Please check this website before saying someone is in or out of jail to avoid confusion.
