Post Election Recording

Devote an Hour To Democracy

A Project of Secure * Accurate * Elections

The work takes place after the polls close!

First, Locate the Vote Totals Tapes

After the polls close on November 7 the poll workers will print out two copies of the totals from each voting machine. These long strips of paper (like a cash register tape) are to be posted outside the polling place for 72 hours. They'll be tacked or taped to a wall, usually near the entrance.

Then, take a few photos and record the numbers

We are asking you to go to your polling place and take pictures of all the tapes posted. There may be five to eight tapes. Make sure you get the precinct number and top candidates (Governor, Secretary of State, Congress). We are also asking you to record the numbers on a form we will send to you. You will then send the results to us over the Internet (copy the vote totals for the various candidates in an email, attach jpgs of the photos you took, and send to savervote@yahoo.com) or by regular mail (PO Box 56, San Luis Rey, CA 90068) and we will compare these numbers with the results posted by the Registrar of Voters.

THAT'S IT!

If you can devote more time to democracy and can be there when the polls close on November 7, there is another project in which you may want to participate. Please let us know if you are interested savervote@yahoo.com or call Jim at 760-500-1927
