FOR POLL TAPES PROJECT: Please see the last section that describes a spreadsheet format for your results. 1. Make sure that if you are taking photos or videos, that you name your files with STATE and COUNTY so when we need to dig into a specific county, we can find them!
2. Please extract the data from the photos or just write down the numbers and then enter into a spreadsheet like the one in this document.
3. Please, for any area you want to check, access the official results report, broken down by PRECINCT and GROUP, so you can get the Election Day totals for a given precinct.
4. Compare the totals from that report with the ones you obtained in your collection process.
5. IF YOU FIND a precinct that is not an exact match, and esp. if it is say 10 votes off, then this is a trigger for us to look more deeply into that area.
6. Please be aware that the poll tapes project is most importantly a means to get a lawsuit started so we can get additional data like ballot images.
