The Open Canvass Method eliminates most hacking opportunites in our election system, does not need certification, does not care about proprietary or closed-source software, and does not rely upon hand-counting.

The method essentially
  • Uses Durable Paper Ballots
  • Scans all ballots using high-speed digital scanners.
  • Store the ballot images on optical media, such as Data-DVDs
  • Multiple teams extract the vote from the digital images, creating a standard table of all the ballots, and the vote found on that ballot.
  • The tables are compared and all discrepancies settled.
  • The final canvass results.
