Track my ballot has been in CA voter guides since the 2020 primary. And other groups push it.

I still think there is conflation between full tracking and that you can check on your ballot status. looks like only partially implemented in 2020. It is almost useless if they have 60 days to report the information.

From 2020 guide:

How do I know the county received my vote-by-mail ballot? Check if your ballot was counted by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. County elections offices have up until 60 days after Election Day to provide this information. Some county elections offices have signed up for the Secretary of State’s new program to track your vote-by-mail ballot. Visit vote.ca.gov to learn about tracking your ballot.
