Info from Nikki Symington:

Ann Auer, followed me as chairman. I am not sure who after that, as I quit
being involved.
Also the previous club, which I believe was called the heartland Democratic
Club, included people like Sy Cassidy, John Hartebeck, Bob Holden was going
up to the l968 primary. I remember attending a meeting where Sy Cassidy,
announced :"we have a peace candidate, and had just returned from a meeting
with Eugene McCarthy. I think that primary split the club, and don't know
if it stayed together afterwards. I supported Bobby Kennedy.

After the McGovern campaign, which I coordinated in the East's County, we
had drawn together quite a coalition of peace, civil rights, liberals and
local democrats, and many wanted to stay together. (a coalition of around
800 volunteers) People elected from that coalition where Lucille Moore, El
Cajon City Council, and County Supervisor ('74) firsts woman, Jan Claussen,
Santee city council and mayor (?) I think. Barbara Collis, Grossmont
College Board; and some others whose names escape me right now. One was for
El Cajon City Council, another for Grossmont High School Board.

Nikki Symington

George Gastil remember James Mc Robbie? who was very active around 1985.
