Save Our Forest And Ranchlands

SOFAR is receiving growing support from both urban and rural residents, ranchers, conservationists, recreationists, and community planners who are alarmed about development sprawling into the agricultural and wilderness areas of San Diego County.

SOFAR believes that the backcountry can and should remain ranchland and wilderness. It recognizes the high value of these backcounty lands for their watershed, recreational, scenic, and biological qualities.

SOFAR works to protect these agricultural and wilderness lands by fostering and supporting both pubic action and governmental responsibility. SOFAR advocates resource-based planning, creative design, and wise stewardship of our natural heritage. SOFAR's advisors are experts in the fields of planning and conservation biology.
